Citi India’s support has helped the inauguration of 10 St. Judes centres in Navi Mumbai that will provide accommodation to underprivileged families of children seeking cancer treatment in the city
Citi's initiatives around CSR initiatives -
• Citi India has contributed towards the Capex and Opex of 10 St Jude centers at ACTREC, Navi Mumbai. Each center can accommodate 11 children, along with their families, at a time. The accommodation is completely free of cost for the child and the accompanying family.
• Citi has supported St Jude India since 2014—not only as donors, but also as partners across several programs, which includes a similar residential center for kids with cancer at Cotton Green.
• Citi’s support extends beyond financial sponsorship. Our colleagues have offered their expertise and volunteering hours to various St Jude initiatives, like organizing educational and entertainment sessions for children with cancer and their parents.
• Until recently, Citi had a payroll-giving initiative that enabled employees to directly extend their financial support to St Jude’s cause
• In developed countries, there is a 80% survival rate for children with cancer . In India, that percentage is way lower because our kids and their families lack safe homes. St Jude’s facility in ACTREC addresses this need. The center provides what medical protocol demands: Infection-free environments where children can recover safely during the long-duration treatment that cancer requires
• Apart from accommodation, the facility provides a comprehensive support infrastructure through nutritious meals, counselling sessions, educational assistance, and transportation for children and their families. These are all vital factors in ensuring a successful outcome for the long treatment process
• In addition to Healthcare, Citi India’s CSR mandate focuses on five themes: Climate resilience & sustainable livelihoods, youth employability, fostering startups, art & culture, and nurturing the next generation.
• Across these themes, Citi works in partnership with more than 25 NGOs to maximize outreach and impact.
• Citi employees regularly volunteer their time to support its NGO partners, especially during the month-long Global Community Day event held in June every year. In June 2025, more than 5,400 Citi employees contributed almost 11,000 volunteer hours in support of various community initiatives.
