From Busan to Mumbai: MIFF 2026 Showcases Internationally Acclaimed Short Films

The 19th Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF) will present a selection of representative short films from the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) under the theme ‘Busan Next Wave’, bringing a diverse mix of stories and filmmaking styles to Indian audiences.

The programme features Delay directed by Wang Han-Xuan (China-USA), Interface by Aya Kawazoe (Japan), Noise Cancellation by Jihye Choi (South Korea), It Sounds Louder on Rainy Days by Kim Sang Yun (South Korea), and the animated short A Man Who Takes Pictures of Flowers by Yoo Lee (United States-South Korea).

The films explore a range of themes and perspectives, from personal journeys to reflections on contemporary society. Together, they offer a glimpse into the stories and voices being showcased at one of Asia's leading film festivals.

The Busan Next Wave showcase will be presented as part of the Mumbai International Film Festival 2026, scheduled to be held from June 15 to 21, 2026.
