Inddie Thumpers Marks India’s 80th Independence Day With an 80-km Motorcycle Ride

MUMBAI, August 15, 2026: The sound of motorcycles and the colours of the Tricolour came together on the outskirts of Mumbai as Inddie Thumpers, the city’s motorcycle club founded in 2001, marked India’s 80th Independence Day with a special 80-km commemorative ride.

The ride began in Vasai, with around 30 motorcyclists covering an 80-km route before arriving at Ahura Hotel, where the group gathered for flag hoisting and Independence Day celebrations.

For the riders, the journey was about more than putting kilometres behind them. It was a way of marking a significant national milestone in a manner that has become deeply familiar to the motorcycle community—on the road, together, and surrounded by fellow riders.

80 kilometres for 80 years

The idea behind the commemorative ride was simple: 80 kilometres to mark India’s 80th Independence Day. The distance gave the celebration a distinctly motorcycling character while keeping the focus firmly on the occasion.

With Indian flags flying and motorcycles forming part of the celebration, the ride brought together riders from different generations. The gathering reflected the enduring appeal of motorcycling as a way of building friendships, sharing experiences and creating memories on the road.
